Overnotch · Focus
Quiet, on your terms.
The notch shows which Focus is on and for how long, lets you switch it or turn it off — and with profiles, you decide how much it's allowed to interrupt you.
Try it — pick a profile, then see what gets through.
Focus
See which Focus, and for how long.
Turn on Do Not Disturb, Work or Sleep — on the Mac, the iPhone or from a schedule — and the notch shows its symbol in its color, with what's left on the other side: 1h for an hour, ∞ until you turn it off. Then the symbol waits beside the notch for as long as the Focus is on.
Switch
Switch it, or turn it off.
Click the symbol beside the notch and it opens with your Focus modes: pick another and it takes over, or turn Focus off. The first time, Overnotch asks you to add its shortcut to Shortcuts — that's the door macOS leaves open for changing Focus.
Profiles
Decide how loud the notch gets.
Normal lets everything through. Work drops match alerts and low-priority notifications. Match puts the game first and lets only important alerts in. Presenting keeps notifications, AirDrops and music off the notch while you share your screen. Minimal: calls and timers, nothing else.
One click
Switch profile from the menu bar.
The Overnotch icon in the menu bar has the list of profiles. Flip to Presenting before you share your screen, and back when you're done.
Good to know
- Focus
- No permission needed. Switching modes from the notch uses a shortcut you add to Shortcuts once.
- Nothing gets switched off
- A profile doesn't touch your settings; it only decides what may interrupt you. Calls and timers always get through.
- Free
- Focus status and profiles keep working after the trial.
