The notch, awake.

Yes. On a Mac without a notch — and on an external display — Overnotch draws its own strip along the top of the screen and behaves the same way. If your Mac does have one, it hangs from the cutout so the two read as a single shape.

Music control, timers, calendar, the clipboard history, the file shelf and document summaries are handled on your Mac. The network is used for three things only: live match data, checking your license, and album artwork that isn't stored locally. There are no third-party analytics in the app.

macOS 14 Sonoma or later, on Apple Silicon. Local AI summaries additionally need macOS 26 and a Mac set up for Apple Intelligence; everything else works without them.

Either. You pick which one Overnotch follows, and the compact player and the full player work the same for both.

The album art, blurred, behind macOS's own clock and password field, plus the player and the live score if a match you follow is on. Click the artwork to shrink it and your own wallpaper fades back in with the full player, while the clock and the password field stay in view over a soft glow of the artwork. To get the artwork behind the lock screen it has to be your real wallpaper, so while music plays Overnotch sets it and covers it on your desktop with your usual one. Stop the music or quit the app and your own wallpaper is back.

Music, notifications, calendar, AirDrop, battery, timers, the file shelf, the clipboard and the launcher stay. Pro adds live sports, the lock screen and local AI summaries. The trial runs the full app for 14 days, with nothing to cancel when it ends.

One purchase covers you on two Macs — say, a MacBook and an iMac — with every v1 update. Moving to a new Mac? Click Deactivate this Mac in Settings on the old one and the slot is free again.

If Overnotch isn't for you, email us within 14 days of buying and you get your money back. You can also try every feature free for 14 days before you pay, so you'll know before you spend anything.

The app is finished. What is missing is Apple's signature: without it macOS blocks the app on any Mac that isn't the one it was built on, so selling it today would mean selling something you cannot open. There is no date on this page because the date isn't ours to promise.
